p>Work and Jobs in Great Britain / UK: as a specialist doctor with a qualification in geriatrics you have the opportunity to work for private hospitals and the NHS
| | |
| | |
| | We have arranged profitable short-term work assignments for German doctors in private and public hospitals all over Great Britain for more than 3 years. Far more than 10.000 English patients have been treated successfully. At the moment there are the following opportunities: |
| | |
| | | Permanent jobs in the NHS: Consultant–jobs: approx. 65.000 - 80.000 GBP per year |
| | |
locum jobs in the NHS: on a weekly or monthly basis – payment by the hour: as consultant approx. 55 GBP per hour, for "staff grade": approx. 40 GBP per hour. "Staff grade" locum placements are usually a lot easier to arrange. If you have had several locum jobs, your chances of getting a placement as a consultant increase due to your newly gained British references. If you are on-call duty, usually the same by the hour payment will be made. |
| | | Night and weekend shifts: Payment will usually be around 50 GBP. The European Guidelines for working hours do not apply for hospital placements yet - therefore you will be able to accumulate many working hours for these emergency medical assistance services |
| | | Requirements: specialist qualification with a certificate in geriatrics, good knowledge of the English language, self-confidence - you have to be able to work independently in unfamiliar surroundings and make decisions. Also: you will have to be prepared to face the paper mountain that is required for GMC registration |
